Gemecca Gems

When planet Gemecca was formed, many glorious phenomena took place. Many creatures were born, and many landscapes were formed. However, there were a peculiar set of treasures born amidst the waves of wonder and chaos. These treasures were called Gemecca Gems, out of these gems there were 11 that were called the Gemecca Genesis 11, the first Gemecca Gems to exist. The spawn of these eleven treasures would change the course of planet Gemecca moving forward.

Among their ranks existed eleven Glorious Gemecca Gems by the names of Flame, Amethyst, Marigold, Lazuli, Jade, Rose, Aquas, Platinum, Arcus, Noir, and Ammolite. Within each Gemecca Gem exists a soul and through their radiant spirit, they helped guide the beings of Gemecca to greater prosperity.

    The Beginning

When planet Gemecca was formed, many glorious phenomena took place. Many creatures were born, and many landscapes were formed. However, there were a peculiar set of treasures born amidst the waves of wonder and chaos. These treasures were called VeGems, but these specific 11 were called the Genesis 11, the first VeGems to exist. The spawn of these eleven treasures would change the course of planet Gemecca moving forward.

Different creatures and mortals of Gemecca worshipping the beauty and might of the VeGems

Among their ranks existed eleven Glorious VeGems by the names of Flame, Amethyst, Marigold, Lazuli, Jade, Rose, Aquas, Platinum, Arcus, Noir, and Ammolite. Within each VeGem exists a soul and through their radiant spirit, they helped guide the beings of Gemecca to greater prosperity.

All the beings of Gemecca marveled at the might and beauty of these Gems. These Legendary treasures radiated massive amounts of energy as well as generating an abundance of gifts. On top of that, any mortal who comes into contact with the gems was bestowed supernatural powers!

Unfortunately, as the years went on the mortals grew selfish and desired to abuse the power of the gems. They will soon realize the grave repercussions that come with overusing a VeGemโ€™s Power.

    The Consequence

As the might and beauty of the Genesis Gems became more renowned throughout Gemecca, mortals would fight for the acquisition of the gems. Once these treasures were gained, the mortals would begin to harvest the powers for themselves.

The wonders that a VeGem grants to its holders are too lucrative to let go of. The Gems that were once worshipped are now downsized to tools of power and greed.

The souls within the Gems grow resentful. The lust for power will be the temporary downfall of these mortals.

As we soon discover, the overuse of a VeGems power has repercussions on any user directly in contact. A VeGem is too overwhelming for mortals to continually use. Strains on the body are the most common after-effects. However, constant overuse lead to mortals losing their sanity and eventually, the disintegration of their bodies.

Overuse of a VeGem causes 3 main things: Blood Lust, Insanity, and eventually Disintegration. This illustration shows the 3 stages of a mortal who is overusing V-Lazuli.

The mortals were in need of controlling the gemโ€™s power. The casualties were becoming too great and their thirst for power needed to be quenched.

Thus marking the birth of the Ranger Suitsโ€ฆ

The casualties from overusing the VeGems power continued to rise. The urgency to control the VeGems became a top priority.

Out of desperation, five mortal races banded together to devise a solution. Through their combined efforts, they engineered a revolutionary suit of armor built to withstand the immense power of the VeGems while also protecting the host. Here we introduce the Ranger Suits

Illustration of a mortal child placing a VeGem in the Ranger Suitโ€™s Core

At the base, the Ranger Suit was built by combining the technology of A.I nanobots and durable minerals extracted from planet Gemeccaโ€™s core. These suits are designed in a way where they are able to morph and restructure themselves to fit around the pilot controlling the suit. Aside from the suit being able to wrap around the host with its nanotech capabilities, the suit is also durable enough to protect the pilot host from the destructive radiation of the VeGems. The five key contributing races were the Starks, Hypers, Scribes, Morphs, and Gemeccians and they used their distinct abilities to create this legendary piece of engineering.

The completion of the Ranger suits brought joy to the mortals. All was well and the mortals truly believed they found the solution to controlling the VeGemโ€™s power, but they made one crucial miscalculation. The mortals forgot to factor in the dormant souls within each of the VeGems.

When the mortals placed the VeGems in the core, a phenomenon took place. What the mortals were expecting was a powered-up suit that they can pilot, but the actual outcome was much different. The Ranger Suits brought sentience to the dormant souls within the VeGems through the suitโ€™s A.I, and these Suits became their own sentient super beings called Gem Rangers! This newfound consciousness led to the dominion of the Gem Rangers, each of them with their own personalities and ambitions.

You can see the respective Genesis VeGem in the top corners. From left to right: V-Arcus, V-Amethyst, V-Rose, V-Noir, V-Aquas, V-Flame, V-Ammolite, V-Platinum, V-Jade, V-Marigold, V-Lazuli. The mortals put the VeGems in the core of the Ranger suits, and the sentient Gem Rangers were born as a result.

Rather than controlling the VeGems, the Genesis 11 Gem Rangers were free from control. Luckily for the mortals, these super beings decided to use their power for the good of Gemecca. Once tools for power and wealth, they are now revered as Gods.

As time went on, each Gem Ranger started to develop their own ideas of what was best for Gemeccaโ€™s existence. With clashing philosophies, the Rangers all felt one thing.

โ€œI should be the supreme deity of this world.โ€

This is what eventually lead to the Great Ranger War.

    The Great Ranger War

Early depiction of V-Flame vs V-Lazuli

After one whole year of co-existing amongst each other, the growing tension between the Genesis 11 reached its climax. With none of them being able to see eye to eye, the bubble popped and so began the Ranger war.

With the 11 Rangers divided, so too were the mortals of Gemecca.

The Ranger war was fierce and eventually, all mortal lives were lost. In the end, all that was left were the Genesis 11. Driven by guilt, the 11 Rangers devised a plan to undo their sins. And that plan was to resurrect all the mortals that were lost. The 11 Rangers decided to sacrifice themselves by fusing together in hopes that the fused super being can have the power to fix the damage.

They fused together to make the Sunny Lu Ranger.

The Sunny Lu Ranger, the super being born out of the fusion of the Genesis 11

Alone in the void of a destroyed Gemecca, the Lu Ranger sat in solitude, observing the broken world around it. Lu explored the combined memories from the previous Genesis 11, and through those flashbacks, it realized what it must do.

Ranger Lu released all of its life energy and self-destructed, releasing waves of healing energy that brought back life all over Gemecca.

    Ranger Luโ€™s Sacrifice

After Sunny Lu perished, life started to return across the world of Gemecca. Right before the Lu Ranger fully disintegrated, it split itself into 554 fractions. These 554 fractions became the other VeGems that we have grown to love in the collection.

You would think everyone would be happy to be resurrected, but we were wrongโ€ฆ

    Aftermath

The act of resurrecting the mortals dealt great pain and corruption to Luโ€™s soul. As his soul deteriorated, all it can think of was, โ€œwhy am I going through all this pain to resurrect lower life forms?โ€. As it broke apart into the 554 other VeGems, its negative sentiments towards mortals transferred onto a majority of the other VeGems. Most of these VeGems/Gem Rangers have the ingrained belief โ€œWhy help and endure pain for selfish mortalsโ€, however, there are the few that still see the goodness in mortals and want to protect them. These Gems are scattered across Gemecca, waiting to be activated in a Ranger suit.

The mortals, on the other hand, remembered their demise after their resurrection. The mortals who were all once united in controlling the VeGems, are now divided after their resurrection. The world split off and the mortal races decided to stay within their own borders. However, despite the walls built between the mortal races, they all agreed on dividing the 5555-built Ranger suits evenly among their kingdoms. They also agreed on one golden rule, DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THE VEGEMS. In order to avoid the problems associated with those beings, they created this law prohibiting contact with these treasures. Anyone who activates a VeGem in the Ranger suits will be faced with great consequences. The world of Gemecca fears the idea of another Gem Ranger War. Despite the overall sentiment, there are still some mortals who believe in the greatness of the VeGems and the Gem Rangers.
